Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 15, 2026

PocketCodedPy is a mobile Python development environment. Your projects, source code, terminal history, Git repositories, and SSH keys are stored locally on your device and are not automatically uploaded to PocketCodedPy. Account information is processed using Google Firebase so that you can sign in and manage your account.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to the PocketCodedPy Android application ("PocketCodedPy", "the app", "we", "us", or "our"). For privacy questions or requests, contact Slimkheli2@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect and process

Account and profile information. When you register or sign in, we process:

Your name or display name;
Your email address;
A Firebase user identifier;
Your sign-in provider, such as email/password or Google; and
The date and time of your most recent sign-in.

Email/password authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication. PocketCodedPy does not receive or store your password in readable form. Firebase may process authentication information such as passwords, email addresses, IP addresses, and user-agent information to authenticate users, secure accounts, and prevent abuse.

Google Sign-In information. If you choose Google Sign-In, Google provides the app with account details needed to authenticate you, such as your Google account email, display name, account identifier, and an authentication token. Your use of Google Sign-In is also governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Purchase and trial information. Google Play provides the app with the product identifier, localized price, purchase state, purchase token, and acknowledgement status needed to complete or restore the one-time Premium purchase. The app stores a local Premium entitlement flag for offline continuity and reconciles it with Google Play when a Billing connection is available. PocketCodedPy stores the start of your free trial in your Firebase profile and stores the most recent free-trial continuation time locally. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.

Locally stored development data. The app stores projects and operational data in app-private storage on your device, including source code, files, folders, editor state, terminal commands and output, Git repositories and configuration, virtual environments, installed Python packages, and SSH keys you generate. We do not automatically send this development data to our servers or Firebase.

Files you select. When you import or export a file or folder, Android's system file picker gives the app access only to the item or location you select. Exported copies are stored in the destination you choose and remain under your control.

User-directed network activity. The app includes tools such as Git, SSH, pip, and curl. When you use these tools, commands, credentials, repository data, source code, package requests, or other content may be transmitted directly to the remote host you specify, such as GitHub, GitLab, a package index, or an API endpoint. Those services process information under their own privacy policies. PocketCodedPy does not control user-selected remote services.

AI chat information. If you use the AI Chat feature, the app may send your prompt, selected project context, active editor content, visible source files, project file names, and recent terminal output to Firebase AI Logic and Google's Gemini models so that the model can generate a response. AI Chat requires a signed-in, verified account. The app shows the selected model before a request is sent. AI suggestions that run terminal commands or replace code require your explicit approval in the app.

3. How we use information

We use information only as needed to:

Create, authenticate, secure, and maintain user accounts;
Display and maintain basic account profile information;
Provide the editor, terminal, project, import/export, Git, SSH, and package features;
Respond to support, privacy, and account-deletion requests;
Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
Comply with applicable law and enforce our legal rights.

4. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for advertising.

Information may be processed or shared in these limited circumstances:

Google Firebase: Firebase Authentication processes sign-in data, and Cloud Firestore stores your display name, email, authentication providers, and last sign-in time.
Google Sign-In: used only when you choose to authenticate with a Google account.
Firebase AI Logic and Gemini: used only when you ask AI Chat to generate a response using project or terminal context.
Google Play: purchases and app distribution are handled by Google Play. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
User-selected services: data is sent to Git hosts, package providers, websites, or APIs only when you initiate the relevant command or connection.
Legal and safety reasons: information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, lawful process, or to protect users, the public, or our rights.

5. Advertising and analytics

PocketCodedPy does not currently include advertising SDKs, Firebase Analytics, or third-party behavioral analytics. If this changes, this policy and the Google Play Data safety disclosure will be updated before the new collection begins.

6. Data security

Account communications with Firebase use encrypted connections. Development files are stored in Android app-private storage, and PocketCodedPy excludes project folders, SSH keys, and runtime data from Android cloud backup. Access to external files is provided through Android's system file picker. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, so users should protect their device, account credentials, private keys, and access tokens.

User-directed terminal connections may use different protocols. HTTPS and SSH provide encrypted transport when correctly configured; plain HTTP does not. You are responsible for the destination and protocol you choose.

7. Retention and deletion

Account data: retained while your account is active and until deletion is requested or otherwise required.
Trial data: the trial start is retained with your cloud profile until account deletion; the hourly continuation timestamp and cached Premium status remain locally until app data is cleared.
Firebase data: after we initiate deletion, Google may retain information in backup systems for a limited period in accordance with Firebase's retention practices.
Local projects and settings: remain on your device until you delete them, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app.
Exported files: remain in the location you selected until you delete them.
User-selected third parties: information sent to remote services is retained under those services' own policies.

To request account and associated cloud-profile deletion, follow the steps on our Account Deletion page. Local and exported files cannot be remotely deleted by us because we do not control your device storage.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have a right to data portability or to complain to a local data-protection authority. Send requests to Slimkheli2@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

9. Children's privacy

PocketCodedPy is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required to consent to data processing in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child below that age. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so that we can investigate and delete it.

10. International processing

Google and user-selected remote services may process information in countries other than your own. Their legal terms and safeguards apply to that processing. Firebase explains its privacy, security, and international-transfer practices on its official privacy and security page.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when PocketCodedPy's features, service providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top will be updated when changes are published. Material changes will be communicated in the app or through another appropriate notice where required.
